Excuses, Excuses, Excuses...


*"But, so and so is doing it!!!"

*Over the past several weeks I have heard so many excuses. We tend to blame other people for our own mistakes.

*Why do we (you) not take responsibility for your actions?

*Why would you use other people for an example to follow?

*Think about the people in you life. Who do you look up to?

*Do you compare the good/bad you do by what this individual does?

*Who do you pattern you life after?

*People are just that, people, humans that no matter how hard they try to do the right things they will fail at times. NO one is perfect!!! EXCEPT JESUS CHRIST AND HIM ALONE!!

*So where does this leave you, who do you look to for guidance and answers?

*Read Amos 7:7-8
*What is a plumb line?

*A plumb line is a sting with a weight tied to one end of it, used to establish a vertical line so that a wall can be built straight.

*Who do you need to pattern YOUR life after?

*Not the preacher, or the youth minister. Not the Deacon or the Sunday School teacher, BUT JESUS CHRIST and HIM ALONE.....

*DO NOT use others as you pattern to follow, follow Christ alone and you will not fall.

*BUT--when you take your eyes off of Him for a minute, you will slip.

*Read Jude 24,25
*Who is able to keep you from stumbling?
*How do these verse make you feel?


*NOW, What if so and so is saying this and doing that, WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH YOU?

*No excuses, follow Christ, be an example for them and others to follow and DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP OF -"Well ____ and ____ do (did) so it should be okay for me."

*What does God say about it??????

*If it is not okay with Christ should it be okay for you ??????????
